The San Diego Zoo has always been a bit of legend for me, I've been told for years that it is one of the best Zoo's in the world. When I found out I was San Diego bound for a work trip, I could not pass up the opportunity to visit. On a whim I booked the Panda Experience along with my admission. This allowed entry into the Zoo two hours before opening, and a special tour behind the scenes with two of the zoo keepers. Money well spent! The tour was early enough that we were able to see the pandas along with many other animals up and active before the day's heat set in. The Zoo's three Pandas Gao Gao, Bai Yun, and Xiao Liwu were pretty indifferent to us - as a bear should be - as our small group gawked and learned about Panda life, but I managed to snag some fun shots of them enjoying a bamboo breakfast. Pictures to prove it...
Number of things I have in common with a Panda - One.
I too, look exactly like this when I sit on the floor and eat Chinese food.
If you are jealous of all this Panda love but can't get to San Diego for a visit any time soon, check out the Zoo's website and tune into the Panda Cam, it's for real.
