We stumbled upon this tiny no-stoplight town while road tripping between Tulum and Chuburná Puerto. As we drove in on the two lane road, I took stock of all this little place had to offer: one open air church, one tope (mexican speed bump) and seemingly more handicraft outposts than domestic housing. Was this an undiscovered honey hole for authentic, Mexican crafts or the equivalent of an American truck stop where you buy airbrushed wolf t-shirts and mud flaps? Who cares! It had just rained so the lighting was perfect and I came away with some shots I will cherish even more than hammocks and huipils.
