Sunday night was the SuperMoon! That means that the Moon was at it's closest approach to the Earth on it's yearly elliptical orbit, AND it was FULL. The result was the biggest dang full moon you will ever see. I hope you were able to get out and crane your next to see it. I went out around midnight and stood in an empty park near my house to take these shots. I got eaten alive by mosquitos but it was worth it to bask in the lunar glow. I'd been saving this quote for some time and it seems like the perfect fit to celebrate our August Moon.
